To ensure water and air tightness, these doors have minimal clearance between the rail and door panel, which causes friction and seal wear. Over time, debris and corrosion reduce this clearance further, making doors harder to slide—especially as roller bearings wear out.

European lift and slide doors solve these issues with an innovative lift-and-slide mechanism. When you turn the handle, the door panel is gently lifted by a pulley system, increasing clearance between the panel and the bottom rail. This allows the door to glide smoothly with minimal effort. When closed, the panel is lowered back into the frame, creating a tight seal for maximum water and air resistance.
