How to Prepare For a Demolition

If you’re about to commence a renovation, we’ve got you covered with our top tips on how to prepare for the kitchen demolition phase. Tile removal and strip out can be messy work but if you read through and follow our hints, this will make the process a lot smoother for all involved.

  • – As tile removal is somewhat noisy it is advisable if you live in a unit or townhouse to let your neighbours know when work will start.
  • – Remove any furniture from the flooring area for easy access.
  • – Remova dishwashers and fridges from the area.
  • – Remove any electronic equipment from the immediate area.
  • – Take down all of your ornaments and pictures. Pack your kitchenware into boxes, remembering to wrap all breakable items first.
  • – For optimal operation of the industrial dust extraction system. Make sure all windows and doors in the area being stripped can be opened.
  • – Smoke alarms may need coverage or isolation as even with dust extraction methods, dust can sometimes set these off.

If required, isolate the areas in your home by using disposable plastic sheets in doorways. This keeps any airborne dust in the area.
